Microbiology & Process Technician

We are currently looking for a Microbiology and Process Technician to join the team in Mount Wellington on a fixed-term contract until November 2024. You will be a part of the Quality Assurance team working in our microbiology laboratory.

Your Impact

You will have the advantage of learning on the job gaining invaluable experience. The core functions of the role are to assist in the daily operation of our Quality Assurance department. Your key duties will involve;

  • Accurately completing sample testing in a timely manner
  • Microbiology analysis and reporting
  • Strictly adhere to all laboratory and regulatory quality assurance procedures
  • Ensuring all relevant records are kept up to date at all times
  • Maintaining a clean and tidy work area
  • Help to provide hygiene knowledge resource to production personnel
  • Participate and contribute to working safely
  • Be actively involved in all the day to day improvement activities
  • Ordering and invoicing of all microbiology supplies
  • At least one year’s experience in plating and reading plates

This is a fixed-term role until November 2024 role, 40 hours/ week between 6.00am- 6.00pm, Tuesday to Saturday.

About You

To be successful in this role you will have:

  • Graduate with a focus on Microbiology or Food Science or relevant technical qualification
  • You can hit the ground running, so those with direct experience in Microbiology will be at an advantage
  • Team player that can remain focused while doing repetitive tasks and cope with regularly changing priorities
  • Excellent attention to detail and fantastic time management skills
  • Able to take initiative, and work in a fair and responsible way
  • Can communicate clearly and effectively across multiple teams
  • Experience in use of Microsoft suite
  • Driver’s licence and own car/ reliable transportation
