Job Purpose:

The Senior Manager, Tax Accounting is responsible for completing assigned duties in the tax accounting area.

Key contributions

Financial Services Delivery

  • Prepare all tax accounting matters and computations included in the Company’s financial statements, footnotes, SEC/UKLA filings, press releases and other public documents.
  • Prepare ETR model and analysis necessary to support the tax computations included in the Company’s financial statements and evaluation of tax planning initiatives. 
  • Maintain and update the tax pack used for consolidating the group’s tax numbers. Provide technical support and guidance to pack completers.
  • Gather data and prepare the computations supporting the timely recognition of period specific ("discrete") income tax matters such as tax law changes, deferred tax assets changes, and changes to income tax estimates. 
  • Initial review of provision to return (“PTR”) workings.
  • Assist in the compliance with all necessary tax accounting internal controls and appropriate documentation in accordance with Sarbanes-Oxley and/or other Company prescribed requirements, including quarterly, semi-annual and annual submission of SOX control checklists.
  • Assist in the coordination of the quarterly Tax Reserves and Audit Update meetings with the various functional and local country tax managers, the Controller's Group, and the Company's external auditors.
  • Prepare the analysis and documentation supporting the recognition of deferred tax assets.
  • Prepare EY's Client Assistance workpapers and assist in the representation and defence of the Company’s tax accounting positions with its external auditors. 
  • Prepare and maintain the Company’s legal entity pre-tax profit (“book”) forecast model. The legal entity “book” models are the foundation for all other special purpose forecast models and provide technical expertise on legal entity accounting issues.  
  • Prepare the computations for accounting for the Company's global income tax reserves in accordance with IAS12 Income Taxes and IFRIC 23 Accounting for Uncertainties in Income Taxes 
  • Prepare and coordinate the monthly and quarterly tax account reconciliation files, including preparation of the quarterly summaries and explanations of variances required by EY and SOX controls. Primary reviewer of reconciliations provided by RTR team
  • Assist in the preparation of the Disclosure Committee tax slides. 
  • Gather, review and consolidate the group’s total tax contribution data.
  • Assist on other projects as required. For example: analysis of tax impact of potential restructuring, tax technology and general process improvements.

Requirements:

  • University degree and professional accounting qualification (ACCA, CIMA, CPA or equivalent) is a strong advantage
  • Minimum of 5 years accounting experience preferably in a SSC multi-national organization and/or Big 4 audit firm. 
  • Strong ERP experience essential, preferably SAP
  • Ability to address or escalate complex issues within the Record to Report area
  • Solid understanding of general accounting and reporting in compliance with IFRS. Particular expertise in reporting for income taxes under IAS 12 and IAS 34
  • Fluent in English
