From a secret recipe to a bold idea and very proud traditions, we build the future. Coca-Cola European Partners (CCEP) is a major fast-moving consumer goods business in Europe and the world’s largest independent Coca-Cola bottler.  Across 13 countries, our employees make, sell and distribute the world’s most loved drinks brands to more than 300 million people. Some of the brands you will find in our portfolio are Coca-Cola®, Fanta®, Powerade®, Glaceau Vitaminwater®, Monster® And Capri-Sun®.

Leading brands, great people and a focus on (personal) growth that comes with it.

Do you like to be able to influence and make a difference?  Does a fast paced environment suit you?

Do you enjoy working in a multi-functional environment with a desire to succeed?

At CCEP, we want to provide a workplace where people are inspired to be the best they can be.  We know that engaged, motivated employees, working to their full capacity and able to reach their personal career goals, are a critical part of our Company’s long-term success.

What you become a part of:

You will become part of the Coca-Cola European Partners team of over 400 people working in Logistics in Great Britain.

Across Great Britain, CCEP has storage space for over 200,000 pallets of finished goods.  Each pallet is around 2,500 cans of Coke (or the equivalent volume, for any our 600+ different formats and flavours).  There are five CCEP factories where our products are made, each with its own warehouse.  About half of our storage capacity is at the factory warehouses.  There are also five third-party logistics (3PL) warehouses, which other companies such as Eddie Stobart run for us, at separate locations.  The 3PL warehouses provide the other half of our storage capacity in Great Britain.

You will work with your line manager, the Senior Manager of 3PL Warehousing, to ensure the safe, efficient and cost-effective management of the five 3PL warehouses, located across the UK, where CCEP’s products are received, stored, repacked and despatched to meet the exacting demands of our customers in retail, wholesale and foodservice.

What to expect:

What will you study?

You will study at Aston University for a BSc (Hons) degree in Supply Chain Management (Professional Practice).  This course is based on the Supply Chain Leadership Professional Degree Apprenticeship Standard (Level 6).  You will typically spend about two days per month at University.  There is more information about the course content on the Aston University website, but an overview is shown here:

Year 1 (2021)

    • Workplace Skills
    • Warehousing & Transport Operations
    • Logistics Management
    • Financial Management

Year 2 (2022)

    • Supply Chain Analytics
    • Purchasing Principles for Global Supply Chain
    • Developing Management Capability

Year 3 (2023)

    • Developing Leadership Capability

You will maintain a logbook throughout your apprenticeship, recording the projects you have completed and the knowledge, skills and behaviours you have learned.

What will you learn, from working in the Logistics team at CCEP?

  1. Customer Focus: who CCEP’s customers are, in retail, wholesale, foodservice and other areas; how 3PL warehouse operations affect the service levels we provide to those customers and influence their perception of CCEP as a supplier.
  2. Financial Management: what it costs to operate a 3PL warehouse; how CCEP budgets and pays 3PLs for those costs; the practical difference between ‘low cost’ and ‘value for money’; and the financial trade-offs considered in decision-making.
  3. Compliance: the laws, rules, contracts and standards that apply in CCEP’s commercial relationships with logistics suppliers, for example on safety, quality, stock control, labour management and operational performance.
  4. Teamwork & Relationships: the business objectives of different parts of the supply chain, within and outside CCEP; why those objectives are not always perfectly aligned; how to communicate effectively and build collaborative relationships across teams.

Your Line Manager will set specific annual objectives for you to achieve, coaching and managing you to support your professional development.  As well as your line manager, CCEP will assign you a Learning Mentor to help you navigate any conflicts between your work at CCEP and your work at Aston University and ensure you get the best out of the apprenticeship opportunity overall, including the on the job learning and academic study elements.  Your Line Manager and Learning Mentor will both aim to ensure you become increasingly valuable to the team at CCEP, achieve your objectives, develop yourself and enjoy your job!

What we expect of you:

  • No prior experience of logistics is necessary.
  • You must demonstrate a clear commitment to your own learning, as you will have to show sufficient dedication to complete your university degree whilst also working full time.
  • You must be fluent in English and be able to communicate effectively in both speaking and writing.  Communication includes listening and it’s important to be a good listener.
  • You must be sufficiently numerate to understand financial and operational numbers and graphs.  You will have to use numeric data confidently in your communications with others.
  • You must have some experience of working with other people. Teamworking will be a key part of the role and you will have to work towards business goals with people from within and outside CCEP.
  • You must meet Aston University’s entry requirements: a minimum of 3 x Cs at A-level (or BTEC equivalent).
  • You must be eligible for apprenticeship funding, as defined by the UK government.
  • A Driving Licence is preferred, as frequent travel in England is essential.

If this role is of interest to you please upload a recent copy of your CV and a member of the Talent Acquisition team will be in touch.

We aim to make our recruitment process as comfortable and accessible as possible and would appreciate it if you would advise us of any particular requirements, adjustments or requests you may have to help us ensure that your experience is enjoyable.
