We need a Microbiology andProduction Support Technician - and right now we have a vacancy in Christchurch!
The Role
In this role you are required to:
- Carry out microbiological testing as required (Plating and Reading)
- Record and maintain accurate test results within laboratory information management systems (e.g., LIMS).
- Analyse, trend, and interpret laboratory data to support timely decision‑making.
- Review customer requirements and implement updates or process changes as they are introduced
- Maintain internal and external calibration of equipment and recording
- Train and maintain competencies for all operators for microbiological sampling
- Key involvement in trouble shooting and problem solving for microbiology and lab equipment
- Actively participate in improvement initiatives
- Maintain Wastewater and Water Treatment facilities
- Monitor and report all required Quality Parameters
- Purchasing of laboratory supplies
- Update and maintain Master Mixing Instruction recipes as required
What do I need?
We’re looking for someone with a positive attitude, who’s adaptable, reliable, and ready to make an impact. You’ll bring hands-on laboratory experience, including microbiology skills like plating and reading plates, backed by at least 3 years in a QC lab environment and experience in chemical handling.
A tertiary qualification in Science, Microbiology, or a related technical field is essential, and additional industry-related courses will give you an edge. If you have beverage manufacturing experience, and a sound knowledge of water treatment, that’s a big plus!
You’ll have good communication skills and are confident with handling a spreadsheet!
