About your new role…
The Technical Writer role is critical to ensure compliance towards the production of quality, accurate and up-to-date technical documentation and standard operating procedures for equipment, systems and processes involved in the end-to-end manufacturing process at a production site. It is a key enabler to build adequate manufacturing capability and skills. This is a permanent role that will report directly to our Manufacturing Improvement Manager, and partner closely with our various subject matter experts and frontline Manufacturing teams to create, update and issue our Standard Operating Procedures to the wider business. There won’t be a dull moment in this role and there will be plenty of opportunity to progress your career within various business units.
What will you be doing?
- Capturing knowledge and learnings from our Subject Matter Experts and Front-Line teams to create and review Standard Operating Procedures and Operational Excellence standards.
- Create simple documents that are clear and easy to read for our front-line operators and document them using standard centralized systems.
- Partner with L&D consultant and operations team to maximize the effectiveness of training and application of the Standard Operating Procedures and Operational Excellence standards.
- Provide support to key improvement programs such as ‘Operational Excellence’ and ‘Path to Competency’ programs.
- Facilitate standardisation across multiple sites which may involve working with Technical Writers in other states.
Let’s talk about you?
- 2-3 Years experience in manufacturing document writing (i.e. SOP, WI, OPL, manuals, process mapping).
- A diploma or bachelor’s in an engineering stream.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Good grasp of Manufacturing technical processes and Lean manufacturing knowledge is desirable.
- Good computer and systems skills (i.e. MSO Office and other document control systems)
- Ability to work effectively with teams and autonomously plan and prioritise work.
