ABOUT YOUR ROLE
The role of Finance Business Partner – Off Premise & Alcohol is responsible for partnering with one or more senior Business Unit leaders to drive value for our customers and shareholders by supporting/influencing business priorities and delivering strategic commercial insights to enable business growth. Finance Business Partners are an integral proactive member of the business unit leadership team and collaborate across the organisation and Business Unit leaders to develop strategic insights on customer, market and supply chain performance to drive profitable revenue, working capital and EBIT.
WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING
Support key business priorities by acting as a trusted commercial strategist:
- Provide trusted financial advice to key stakeholders to align business direction and financial strategies.
- Understand the business strategy, value drivers and KPIs and provide risk-adjusted financial analysis and insights into performance.
- Support and influence key operational and strategic decisions by offering advice on planning assumptions, trade-offs and opportunities.
- Partner with the business to form long and short-term plans to maximise opportunities based on in-depth commercial insights and business knowledge.
Drive improved business outcomes as a trusted performance catalyst:
- Stimulate behaviours to drive improved commercial performance within the business and achieve business and financial objectives.
- Present performance in the industry, competitor and economic context.
- Work with Senior Analysts to conduct extensive financial and operational analysis on key metrics and generate options to leverage performance to close variances between targets and actuals; provide proactive challenge to the business to improve performance.
- Collaborate with business partners and key stakeholders on annual budget, quarterly forecast and monthly performance results.
- Translates strategic direction and business frameworks into goals, action and metrics; leads integration of planning and forecasting with business units own planning activities
- Build strong business understanding and knowledge to provide meaningful, actionable and timely insights to business leaders; communicates opportunities and risk to achieving business strategy.
- Partner closely with key stakeholders to create opportunities to build knowledge of the business context, ensuring that they have the business context to effectively execute based on up-to-date information and assumptions.
- Drive maximum ROI on investments and assets by continually reviewing resources allocation and performance.
- Lead process improvement and simplification to minimise fragmentation and confusion across the Away from Home channel.
Building Strategic Partnerships:
- Partner with stakeholders to provide commercial input, drive revenue opportunities, costs savings and promotional opportunities.
- Support the development and execution of the business strategy, communicating cost savings and customer service opportunities, risks across the network and assessment of investment options to maximise asset returns.
- Uplift the commercial acumen of business unit leaders through proactive partnership and coaching
- Collaborate with RGM & Commercial Agreements to leverage skills, expertise and share insights.
- Build strong partnership relationships with the key contacts in RGM and Commercial Agreements.
Lead Sustainable Change:
- Acts as change agent by promoting the Finance change vision to business leaders, ensuring changes are understood and implemented smoothly, with minimal disruption to BU operations.
- Support to embed the new Finance Operating Model through coaching of stakeholders on how to access services in the new model, building the financial acumen of leaders to enable self-service.
- Identify opportunities for improvements in process/reporting and work with continuous improvement team and key stakeholders to implement.
Team Leadership:
- Play a key role in being part of a high performing team by energizing the team to step up and deliver their best work.
- Actively participate and contribute to the achievement of team goals and building a collaborative environment.
LET’S TALK ABOUT YOU!
- 5+ years’ experience in commercial or accounting roles, partnering with Senior stakeholders and a passion for customer centricity;
- Exceptional communication and presentation skills with the ability to deliver a narrative of complex financial concepts to build commercial awareness and understanding;
- Builds and maintains strong working relationships with key stakeholders understanding the objectives of all parties and identifying the associated risk and opportunities;
- Proven experience in providing sound commercial advice, influencing commercial outcomes and challenging decisions appropriately using fact-based data, with ability to build and maintain strong stakeholder relationships;
- Ability to build and maintain effective cross functional business partnerships through demonstrated integrity
- Sound organisational and prioritisation skills;
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate complex financial information simply
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, specifically Excel and PowerPoint
- SAP experience; prior system / implementation experience desired but not essential
- Tertiary qualifications in Finance, Commerce or Accounting highly regarded
- CA/CPA qualifications highly regarded
