Your Opportunity...

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Senior Microbiologist to join our Quality, Environment, Safety, Health team (QESH). In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring the highest standards of microbiological testing, product safety, and quality across our manufacturing operations.

You will play a key role in maintaining laboratory excellence, driving continuous improvement, and ensuring compliance with food safety, regulatory, and internal standards.

This is a full-time, permanent, site-based role at our Richlands site.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct and review microbiological testing across raw materials, water systems, packaging, syrups, and finished products
  • Ensure microbiological safety by identifying and escalating out-of-specification results and leading investigations
  • Implement non-conformance, root cause, and corrective action plans
  • Manage laboratory operations including equipment calibration, maintenance, and ordering consumables
  • Determine testing requirements and support training of QA staff on microbiological procedures
  • Conduct GMP audits and provide feedback to operations teams
  • Maintain accurate records, reporting, and trend analysis to identify risks and improvement opportunities

About You

You will have:

  • Tertiary qualifications in Science Microbiology is preferred or a related discipline
  • Experience in a microbiological testing role
  • Strong experience in laboratory management, microbiological analysis, and testing methodologies
  • Knowledge of food safety, quality systems, GMP, and manufacturing processes
  • Experience managing non-conformances, root cause investigations, and corrective actions
  • Internal Audit certification preferred
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and continuous improvement mindset
  • High attention to detail and ability to manage technical documentation and reporting systems
