About your new role…

We have a fabulous opportunity to join our team at Richlands. The purpose of the Water Treatment Plant Technical Officer is to oversee processes that ensure the overall uptime and availability of systems and equipment related to the water treatment department, enabling the safe treatment and purification of water for site operations. Their primary responsibility is to maintain and operate water treatment systems effectively, ensuring that the water is clean, safe, and meets required quality and processing standards.

What will you be doing?

  • Monitoring and controlling water treatment processes: Ensuring the proper chemicals, filtration, and treatment procedures are used to remove contaminants. Performing daily checks, cleaning processes.
  • Maintaining equipment: Managing the upkeep of all relevant equipment, filtration systems, and other machinery to keep the plant running efficiently, including performing routine cleaning and maintenance tasks.
  • Quality control: Regularly testing water samples to ensure compliance with required water standards for production purposes.
  • Budget Management: Collaborating with the maintenance manager to prepare maintenance budgets for the water treatment area and actively controlling expenditures to adhere to budget limits.
  • Troubleshooting issues: Responding quickly to malfunctions or system failures to prevent disruptions in water supply and quality that could impact plant performance and product quality.
  • Record keeping: Maintaining accurate records of water quality, maintenance, and other essential operational details. The Water Treatment Plant Officer will help deliver business performance against site KPIs while complying with CCEP’s policies, procedures, systems, and standards.
  • Continuous Improvement: This involves managing complex work packages and identifying areas of opportunity and implementing change to improve water treatment plant operating productivity, chemical usage optimisation and water and energy usage reduction.
  • Regulatory compliance: Ensuring that the plant adheres to environmental and safety regulations, preparing reports as required, and, at times, developing Safe Operating Procedures (SOPs) for the area.

Let’s talk about you!

  • NWP30315 Certificate III in Water Industry Treatment or higher (preferred a degree in Engineering preferably mechanical or chemical).
  • 5 years + of water treatment maintenance and operation experience.
  • Ability to write manual and work instructions.
  • Operation and knowledge of Reverse Osmoses, Nano filtration and other associated water treatment methodologies and equipment.
  • Knowledge of water chemistry and microbiology to ensure proper treatment and removal of contaminants.
