What you will be doing, in a nutshell  
As the Manager Category Management Channel & Strategy you will be responsible for supporting and implementing our Category Vision, Category Forecast, (Sub Trade) Channel Strategy and Channel execution.

In collaboration with the Senior Manager Category Channel & Strategy and the departments Commercial Insights, Shopper Activation, Sales and Field Sales you will play a crucial role in optimizing our business, developing the PICOS/Look of Success per Sub Trade Channel and shaping the future vision for perfect store execution, leveraging data-driven insights and shopper research.

  • Implement and update the Category Vision, by analyzing proofpoints, support in co-creation and strengthening the strategic narrative with compelling, data-backed insights.
  • Advanced data analytics initiating and expanding collaborations with various internal and external solution providers to enhance the effectiveness and efficiency of category management—both in the areas of Range & Space, Analytics and Category Forecasting.
  • Shape Where to Play and leverage insights to concrete So What: Integrate and interpret multi-source data(e.g., shopper behavior, market trends, Nielsen, IRI, Customer Data, Insights Reports) to generate actionable insights and predictive forecasting & advise at both category and channel levels, supporting strategic decision-making.
  • (Co) develop Channel Visions for subtrade channels (Cinema, QSR, Petrol, Convenience, Retail), incorporating future-forward concepts like the “Store of the Future” and evolving shopper expectations in co-op with responsible Category Managers.
  • (Co) Develop and enhance the Picture of Success (PICOS) and Look of Success (LOS) for each subtrade channel, in close collaboration with Category Management, Shopper Activation, and Field Sales. Grounded in data and shopper insights.
  • Identify, develop and advise category initiatives aligned with Category-. Channel- and Customer objectives. Such as assortment, chilled availability and shelving optimizations cq disruptions, with a strong focus on shopper needs.
  • Stakeholder alignment, building and maintaining strong relationships with internal and external partners. 

The people behind the bottles
The Category Development team currently consists of 13 people. The team is led by Lenne van Asselen, Associate Director Category Development Management and is part of the Commercial Development team. In this role you will report to Naomi Reisel, Senior Category Manager Channel & Strategy.

Your must-haves 

  • At least 5 years of relevant (customer or strategic) experience within FMCG, ideally in Home and Out-of-Home
  • Excellent analytical skills and the ability to translate data into 'actionable insights'
  • Direct or indirect experience with Category Management
  • The drive to implement visions on assortment, shelving, consumer and shopping behavior
  • Result-oriented focus, from strategy to execution
  • Strong experience using MS Excel and PowerBI
  • Experience with Market data tools (Nielsen, Circana, Datlinq), and space management software (JDA, ImpactXP)
  • A stakeholdermanager pur sang
  • A team player who can build internal and external collaborations
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills (Dutch + English)
  • Strong commercial skills
