Customer Category Manager - Independent Grocery & Discounters (Sydney)

The Opportunity

This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced category or commercial leader to step into a pivotal role supporting our Independent Grocery & Discounter customers at Coca‑Cola Europacific Partners.

As Customer Category Manager – Independent Grocery & Discounters, you will sit at the intersection of Category Strategy and Customer Sales, translating category strategy and insight into clear, compelling stories that help customers see how categories grow and the role CCEP plays in unlocking that growth. This role is hands on in Joint Business Planning, range reviews and customer engagement, partnering closely with Customer GMs and Sales teams to ensure category led thinking lands through simple, credible and persuasive storytelling.

What you’ll be doing

Some of the key responsibilities include:

Independent Grocery category leadership

  • Champion the voice of Independent Grocery customers into the business
  • Apply category strategy and growth priorities to Customer specific category plans
  • Act as the objective category voice in customer conversations

Joint Business Planning & range reviews

  • Lead and facilitate gold standard JBPs with customers, integrating category opportunities with customer priorities
  • Own the end‑to‑end range review process, from insight and analysis through to recommendations and customer presentations
  • Ensure all outputs are category led, fact‑based and commercially sound

From strategy to execution

  • Translate category “where to play” choices into clear “how to win” plans for customers
  • Partner closely with Range & Space teams on range, space and planogram recommendations that unlock growth while remaining executable across diverse Independent &Discounter store formats
  • Provide clear Range, Space, Visibility, Price and Operations (RSVPO) direction to support consistent execution and impactful execution in trade

Capability & influence

  • Build Sales capability within the Independent team through stronger category, shopper and customer narratives
  • Lead through influence, collaboration and clarity—bringing cross‑functional partners on the journey

About you

You are a commercial storyteller, someone who can take insight, strategy and data and turn it into clear, persuasive narratives that influence decisions both internally and with our customer partners.

You enjoy working with customers, partnering with Sales, and bridging the gap between strategy and execution.

To be successful in this role, you will bring:

  • Demonstrated FMCG experience, ideally across Category, Strategy, National Accounts or Sales
  • Strong exposure to customer facing roles, with experience working closely with Sales teams
  • Understanding of channel dynamics, ideally within Independent Grocery or similarly complex customer environments
  • Strong analytical capability with the ability to translate insight into simple, compelling category stories
  • A pragmatic, solutions oriented mindset
  • Excellent communication, presentation and stakeholder engagement skills
  • A collaborative style, growth mindset and appetite to learn
