Your new opportunity…
We have a fantastic opportunity to become our National Pallet Controller. You will relish in being responsible for driving end‑to‑end pallet governance across Queensland, while also providing national leadership, oversight, and capability uplift across all state pallet operations. You will be the go-to for our other State Pallet Controllers and the point of escalation.
This role ensures consistent pallet compliance, strong financial controls, and accurate national reporting for one of CCEP’s highest‑value pooled asset categories.
With accountability for the QLD pallet P&L and national governance standards, the role leads SOX compliance, develops national SOPs, and partners with state teams to minimise loss, strengthen controls, and deliver best‑practice pallet management across the country.

What will you be doing?
National Pallet Leadership & State Support
- Act as the national point of contact for pallet governance, processes, and improvement initiatives.
- Provide ongoing support, training, troubleshooting, and escalation guidance to pallet teams across all states.
- Ensure nationwide consistency in pallet compliance, reconciliation processes, and reporting standards.
- Monitor state performance, identify risk areas, and support teams to resolve issues proactively.
Pallet Compliance, Governance & SOX Controls
- Develop, implement, and maintain national pallet SOPs aligned with SOX requirements and internal audit expectations.
- Ensure all states comply with CHEP hire agreements, customer processes, and internal governance standards.
- Conduct national compliance reviews, audits, and periodic process health checks.
- Strengthen site‑level understanding of compliance expectations through training and field support.
- Build strong relationships with CHEP, transport partners, state leaders, and warehouse teams to support consistent governance.
Financial Ownership & P&L Accountability
- Fully own the QLD pallet P&L and contribute national insights to support broader financial governance.
- Track monthly hire charges, transactional activity, account variances, and loss trends for every state.
- Identify national cost‑reduction opportunities through improved controls, compliance uplift, and loss‑prevention strategies.
- Partner with Finance and Transport leadership to ensure accuracy of accruals, adjustments, and stock allocations.
- Provide guidance to states to ensure pallet transactions accurately reflect physical stock and prevent financial leakage.
National Reporting: Losses, Risks & Write‑Offs
- Produce a monthly national pallet performance report covering:
- Losses by State and Site
- Variance drivers and trend analysis
- Operational root causes
- Customer and carrier‑related risks
- Expected write‑offs and financial exposure
- Recommended actions and mitigation strategies
- Coordinate with State teams to validate data and investigate discrepancies.
- Present findings in monthly Transport meetings, ensuring clear visibility of risks and required interventions.
- Forecast expected write‑offs and provide recommendations to reduce exposure.
Operational Leadership (QLD Focus)
- Lead the QLD pallet administration function, ensuring accuracy and timeliness of transfers and reconciliations.
- Support Transport and Warehouse teams with operational guidance, dispute resolution, stock investigations, and process improvement.
- Ensure QLD pallet controls meet national standards and contribute to national uplift activities.
Strategic Planning & Continuous Improvement
- Analyse national and state‑level trends to identify systemic risks, recurring issues, and process gaps.
- Lead national initiatives to reduce loss, improve accuracy, and enhance control measures.
- Drive continuous improvement through automation, digital tools, reporting enhancements, and workflow redesign.
- Develop and maintain national training materials, reference guides, and best‑practice documentation.
Role Importance: National Governance, Compliance & Financial Control
The QLD & National Pallet Governance Lead plays a critical role in ensuring:
- Full compliance with CHEP requirements and internal governance standards
- Accurate and transparent financial outcomes
- Prevention of unnecessary hire charges and write‑offs
- Consistency and discipline across all states
- Reduction of pallet loss through strong controls
- Improved national transport cost position
- Enhanced operational predictability and reduced disputes

- Strong background in compliance, audit, or financial control environments.
- Deep understanding of CHEP hire systems and pallet compliance processes.
- High analytical capability with experience interpreting financial impacts.
- Strong communication and reporting skills, including presenting financial results and loss trends.
- Proficiency in Excel, pallet software platforms, and reporting tools.
- Ability to problem‑solve, drive accountability, and lead change across a dispersed national network.
- Strong stakeholder management and relationship‑building skills.
