New Business Development Specialist - Coffee

The Opportunity

We are looking for a driven and commercially minded New Business Development Specialist - Coffee to grow our Grinders Coffee business by identifying, developing and winning new customers.

This is a field-based sales role where you’ll build a strong new business pipeline, develop relationships with prospective customers and work closely with our Territory Managers to uncover and convert growth opportunities. You’ll combine your sales capability with your passion for coffee to understand customer needs, develop the right solutions and demonstrate why Grinders is the right long-term partner for their business. 

You’ll also be a key coffee expert within the state, supporting customers and our sales teams with coffee knowledge, training and best practice.
This is a 12-month fixed-term contract, based from our Leichhardt office, with a territory spanning Sydney’s Inner West through to Greater Western Sydney, as well as Bathurst and Orange. The role will also involve quarterly regional travel.

Key Responsibilities

  • Identify, qualify and convert new business opportunities into profitable, long-term Grinders customers
  • Build and manage a strong sales pipeline and deliver against new business and financial targets
  • Develop compelling commercial proposals and negotiate mutually beneficial outcomes
  • Build strong relationships with prospective customers, key decision-makers and industry contacts
  • Use your coffee expertise to provide advice on coffee quality, equipment, brewing standards and beverage solutions
  • Deliver coffee training and support customers through onboarding and implementation
  • Partner with Territory Managers and broader commercial teams to identify and progress growth opportunities
  • Represent Grinders at industry events, customer activations and trade engagement opportunities

About You

You’re a proactive and resilient sales professional who enjoys finding opportunities, building relationships and turning prospects into long-term customers. You’re comfortable managing your own pipeline and priorities, and you bring a genuine passion for coffee, hospitality and delivering great customer outcomes.

In addition, you will have:
  • A current driver’s licence
  • Demonstrated experience identifying, developing and converting new business opportunities
  • Strong relationship-building, influencing and negotiation skills
  • Confidence managing a sales pipeline, prioritising opportunities and working towards targets
  • Strong commercial acumen with the ability to understand customer needs and develop effective solutions
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively across different teams
  • Coffee industry, hospitality or sales experience is advantageous
  • Barista, coffee quality or industry accreditation is desirable, but not essential
