Commercial Planning Manager (Sydney)

Role Purpose
The Commercial Planning Manager is responsible for leading the Commercial Planning Cycle (CPC), ensuring strategic priorities are translated into actionable plans, performance is monitored, and governance processes support effective decision-making across the Commercial function.
The role partners with Commercial leaders to coordinate planning activities, track progress against agreed commitments, identify risks and dependencies, and provide insights that support delivery of business objectives. The Commercial Planning Manager drives planning discipline, accountability and alignment across Commercial teams through effective governance, reporting and stakeholder engagement.
This is a permanent full-time role based in our North Sydney head office.
Key responsibilities
- Lead the end-to-end Commercial Planning Cycle, ensuring milestones, deliverables and timelines are achieved.
- Translate strategic priorities into actionable business plans with clear ownership and measures of success.
- Coordinate planning activities across Commercial teams to drive alignment and consistency.
- Manage governance forums, planning reviews and decision-making processes.
- Monitor progress against strategic priorities and identify risks, dependencies and delivery gaps.
- Provide reporting, insights and recommendations that support better business decisions.
- Build strong relationships across Commercial, Finance, Marketing, Category and Strategy teams.
- Drive continuous improvement in planning processes, governance and ways of working.

- Internal: Commercial Leadership, Category & Insights, Marketing, Commercial Finance, Revenue Growth Management, Strategy Teams, Project Teams and Transformation Office
- External: Strategic business partners, Key suppliers and vendors, External consultants and advisory partners, Planning and performance technology providers
About you
You are a highly organised and commercially minded planning professional who can connect strategy with execution.
You'll bring:
- 5-8 years' experience in commercial planning, business planning, PMO, strategy execution, business operations or performance management.
- Experience coordinating business planning cycles, governance forums and stakeholder engagement activities.
- Strong project coordination, reporting and performance-tracking capability.
- The ability to influence senior stakeholders and drive outcomes without direct authority.
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving capability.
- Experience working within large, complex and fast-moving environments.
- A degree in Business, Commerce, Economics, Finance, Management or a related discipline.
