Senior Finance Manager – Logistics & Planning

Location: Uxbridge

Contract type: 16 Month Contract

What you become part of:

Reporting into the Supply Chain Finance Logistics, CDO and Consolidations Lead, the role will provide support and operational business partnering in respect of Great Britain Business Unit Logistics and Planning teams. Key responsibilities include providing analysis, insights and finance support during daily operations, key project planning and implementation and through the annual business planning, forecasting and long range planning cycles 

What to expect:

  • Business partnering with to the Logistics and Planning teams, delivering world class business partnering to enable better decision making.
  • Supporting the Logistics and Planning team during the Strategic Planning, Annual Business Planning, Forecasting/Working Capital and closing reviews to ensure financial risks, opportunities and projects are appropriately reflected for the operations.
  • Developing a thorough understanding of the Logistics and Planning operations, enabling the provision of strategic insight and development of long and short range plans.
  • Identifying financial risks and supporting development of action planning to prevent risks having an impact on the business, both short and long term.
  • Proactively monitoring financial measures, KBI’s, trend analysis and other performance metrics, to identify opportunities to improve the performance of the Logistics and Planning operations.
  • Delivering the update, implementation and tracking of efficiency and other improvement projects, including preparing business cases and critically evaluating local project proposals in collaboration with the BU Integration Management Office team.
  • Monitoring and guiding the CoE to deliver financial reporting, including benchmarking, to relevant stakeholders in the Logistics and Planning operations. Providing guidance to the CoE to developing and delivering reporting tailored to the customer requirements.
  • Tracking and publishing the impact of all spends and major projects to ensure appropriate control is maintained and highlighting the need for any corrective action to management 
  • Ensuring financial transactions, policies, systems, and procedures meet the organisation’s and BUs short and long-term business objectives and comply with regulations, accounting principles, and standards.

Skills & Essentials 

  • Bachelor’s Degree/ Masters Degree (in relevant field) required
  • A qualified accountant 
  • Sound knowledge of commercial finance with experience developing strategic initiatives for growth and cost efficiency
  • Experience of working in an organisation with outsourced functions;
  • Project Management skills
  • Finance systems knowledge
  • Lateral thinker with the ability to solve problems; Self-starter with a ‘can-do’ attitude;
  • Ability to positively and collaboratively influence
  • Entrepreneurial thinking
  • Strong stakeholder management skills
  • Leadership/coaching
