Senior Manager Category Development - Home Channels

Context

As Senior Manager Category Development – Home Channels, you are the strategic category leader responsible for driving sustainable growth of the non-alcoholic beverages category across two of CCEP's most important retail customers. 

You will define and bring to life the Category Vision at customer level, transforming shopper, customer and market insights into clear strategic priorities and impactful growth initiatives. A key element of the role is ensuring these strategies translate into execution by working closely with Account Management, Field Sales and cross-functional teams to create tangible impact in store.

Acting as a trusted partner to both customers and internal stakeholders, you will sit at the heart of the relationship between customers, Account teams and Field Sales, shaping long-term category growth, strengthening customer partnerships and reinforcing CCEP's position as the category leader.

Responsibilities

Category Strategy & Growth

  • Define and land the Category Vision for the two retailers, ensuring it is tailored, relevant and impactful for the Home channel.
  • Translate shopper, customer and market insights into clear strategic priorities and actionable growth plans.
  • Identify and unlock sustainable growth opportunities across assortment, space, pricing and promotion.
  • Drive category growth initiatives that create mutual value for customers and CCEP.
  • Support the development of category strategies aligned with broader commercial objectives.

Customer Partnership & Influence

  • Lead customer-facing category discussions, influencing decision-makers with compelling, insight-led recommendations.
  • Deliver best-in-class category reviews with clear, data-driven growth opportunities.
  • Build strong relationships with key customer stakeholders and position CCEP as a trusted category partner.
  • Partner closely with Account teams to shape customer strategies and Joint Business Plans.
  • Act as a strategic advisor on category opportunities, trends and performance.

Execution Excellence

  • Ensure category strategies are effectively translated into actionable execution priorities.
  • Work closely with Field Sales teams to drive excellence in in-store execution.
  • Act as the connecting point between customers, Account teams and Field Sales, ensuring priorities are clear, commercially relevant and executable.
  • Monitor implementation and identify opportunities to continuously improve category performance.
  • Ensure category recommendations generate measurable customer and business results.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Collaborate closely with Account Management, Field Sales, Shopper Marketing and Revenue Growth Management teams.
  • Support pricing and promotional strategies in partnership with Revenue Growth Management.
  • Lead and contribute to customer-focused cross-functional projects and initiatives.
  • Drive alignment across stakeholders to ensure effective implementation of category priorities.

Leadership & Capability Building

  • Coach and support category team members, helping to strengthen category management capabilities across the organization.
  • Share best practices, insights and learnings across the Commercial Development function.
  • Contribute to developing a high-performing, collaborative and customer-focused category culture.

Profile

Experience & Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Economics, Business Administration or a related field.
  • Minimum 5–7 years of experience within FMCG, Category Development, Commercial Development, Commercial Excellence or Sales.
  • Proven experience in Category Development is strongly preferred.
  • Strong understanding of category management principles, shopper insights and customer strategies.
  • Experience working with major retail customers is an asset.

  • Excellent analytical capabilities and ability to develop compelling, insight-led recommendations.
  • Strong storytelling, influencing and presentation skills.
  • Proven ability to influence senior stakeholders both internally and externally.
  • Strong customer focus and passion for driving sustainable growth.
  • Ability to connect category strategies with practical in-store execution.
  • Strong stakeholder management and relationship-building capabilities.
  • Leadership mindset with the ability to coach, support and develop others.
  • Collaborative approach and ability to thrive in cross-functional environments.

Technical Skills

  • Advanced proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Strong experience working with category, shopper and customer data.
  • Experience with syndicated data sources and category management tools is an advantage.
  • Strong ability to interpret complex data and translate it into actionable commercial recommendations.

Languages

  • Fluency French is required. 
  • Professional proficiency in Dutch is strongly preferred.
  • Good command of English.
