The role:

Reporting directly to the Head of Procurement – Pacific Islands & PNG, this role is responsible for the delivery and execution of a category strategy across Papua New Guinea. The focus is on maximizing value through P&L savings, improved cash flow, financial benefits, and sustainable, competitive service delivery. A key responsibility is to ensure the quality and continuity of supply for goods and services within the category, using a Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) approach to drive long-term value and operational efficiency.

A well-presented, highly personable and efficient candidate who can work independently in a challenging environment. The ideal candidate must meet the following minimum requirements: 

  • Experience in FMCG procurement, developing procurement category strategies across multiple geographies and functions.
  • Experience working in a high-profile public company in a multi-national environment.
  • University degree or relevant professional qualification.
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in category management, preferably FMCG.
  • Strategic thinker & Good communication skills
  • Experience in negotiating complex, high volume contracts
  • Demonstrate the capacity to evaluate issues analytically and commercially
  • Strong project and change management skills
  • Strategic Thinking & Relationship Management
  • Networking, Influencing & Problem Solving.
  • Thinks through options, builds economically sound business cases and makes decisions based on a strong understanding of the CCEPPNG strategy, current performance, our financial position and our market impact.
  • Thinks through complexity, is able to connect the dots between different sets of information to bring new insights to CCEPPNG. Is comfortable with ambiguity, generates ideas and makes decisions without over analysing.
  • Seeks out information to better understand CCEPNZ, our partners, competitors, customers and our consumers. Digs beneath the surface of issues to gain a better understanding and source opportunities. Looks for diverse and alternative viewpoints to help challenge existing thinking.
