The Role
As our Project Engineer, you will be based at our Moorabbin site, and will be accountable for the planning, execution, and successful delivery of our industrial building and construction projects.
Reporting to the State Engineering Manager, this exciting role will be responsible for managing Design and Construct (D&C) contracts within strict cost, time, quality, and safety parameters. A key focus for you will be on contract and contractor management, safety compliance, and effective stakeholder engagement, including internal teams and external parties such as Local Councils and regulatory bodies.
A typical day would look like, but not be limited to:
- Lead the delivery of industrial building and construction projects from design through to handover.
- Develop, monitor, and control project schedules, ensuring adherence to critical milestones.
- Administer and manage Design and Construct (D&C) contracts, ensuring compliance with agreed terms.
- Manage and oversee performance of contractors, subcontractors, consultants, and suppliers.
- Maintain strict compliance with safety legislation, standards, and company safety management systems.
- Implement and enforce permit-to-work systems.
- Actively promote and demonstrate a strong safety culture across all stakeholders.

About you!
This is a very visible role – one which will see you working in collaboration across multiple functions within the business including Operations, Logistics, Quality, Safey, Environment, Commercial and Finance. So solid project experience and time management is a must to be successful in this role.
Due to the front facing nature of this role, we are looking for an extremely strong communicator as you will be exposed to multiple levels throughout the business which will require effective communication from all levels - frontline operations and all the way up to Director/Executive level.
Our ideal candidate will possess:

You will also bring with you:
Essential:
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in industrial building and construction client-side project management for projects of a value exceeding $5m
- 10 years’ experience in a relevant field or industry.
- Demonstrated experience managing Design and Construct (D&C) contracts on complex projects.
- Strong track record in contract administration, contractor management, commercial issue resolution and procurement.
- Proven financial management experience including cost control, forecasting, and reporting.
- Comprehensive understanding of construction safety standards, permit-to-work systems, and compliance requirements.
- Experience in managing a Principal Contractor construction site
- Demonstrated ability to manage internal and external stakeholders, including Local Councils.
- Strong Excel and PowerPoint Skills.
Desirable:
- Degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or Building Trade.
- Building License
- Previous experience in food and beverage or heavy industrial sectors.
- Development Application management
