Strategy Planning Manager

ABOUT YOUR ROLE

The Strategy Team is an enterprise wide, in house strategy & consulting team that sits within the Commercial Excellence Office of CCEP.

The team consists of planning, strategy and project specialists that work on a variety of high impact projects ranging from Business Transformation, Innovation Strategy and Operating Models to corporate development initiatives including M&A.

Operating within 8-12 week project sprints, the team collaborates closely with each of CCEP’s Business Units to bring independent thinking to complex problem solving, whilst partnering with external agencies on occasion (e.g. MBB) to leverage best practice.

The strategy team manages and facilitates the annual and long-range planning cycle to provide clear strategic direction and prioritisation across the beverages portfolio to achieve business outcomes and financial targets.

As the Strategy Planning Manager, you will be accountable for leading the 5 year Long Range Plan (LRP) to achieve revenue, profit and market share objectives. This senior role will be responsible in managing cross functional transformational LRP sprints to deliver commercial growth and offer the best stakeholder experience. It plays a key leadership role in developing the Strategy on a Page, Scorecarding and Course Correction through the integrated Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) process.

The role reports to the GM of Commercial Strategy and works closely with the Australian Leadership Team (ALT) across Commercial, Sales, Operations and Finance to define the overall strategic plan.  It also plays a critical role in the preparation of board papers, investor / capital markets day and leads the yearly Australia Strategy Day event.

WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING

  • Facilitate and manage the annual and long-range planning process to help achieve financial targets, resource allocation and business outcomes.
  • Instil a high level of confidence & understanding of CCEP’s strategic initiatives and implementation plans.
  • Deliver a seamless and timely annual and long-range planning process that drives strong ALT engagement and alignment across Commercial, Sales, Operations and Finance divisions and across the overall organisation. This role will requires collaboration, stakeholder management and influencing across senior leaders.
  • Lead the planning and collation of multiple sources of data (e.g. macro outlook, 5-year P&Ls, industry projections, competitor insights, consumption trends, global best practice, etc.) and synthesizing strategic opportunities and risks into a succinct pack with aligned actionable outcomes.
  • Partner with Finance GMs during the budgeting, forecast and commercialisation process.
  • Lead the facilitation of CCEP Strategy Day and Australia LRP Kick Off in conjunction with ALT and Finance to articulate clear strategies and project initiatives to meet our commercial execution, resource investment and growth ambitions.
  • Define and implement a new Commercial Operating Model to simplify the decision-making process, improve ways of working, execute with excellence and accelerate speed to market of new initiatives.
  • Lead the development of the CCEP Strategic Plan on a page, LRP sprint cycle, API Capital Markets Event, Board Papers and any ad-hoc tasks required by the ALT and Head of Commercial Strategy.
  • Incubate and operationalise strategic programs of work as required, until they are ready to be handed over to operational teams as BAU, including management of external partnerships.
  • Manage the framework for the tracking & delivery of strategic priorities.
  • Mentor and coach junior team members including Project and Strategy Consultants.
  • Partner with the Head of Commercial Strategy to drive team engagement, training and development.

  • Minimum of 5-10 years experience in strategy or planning equivalent role, ideally with at least 3 years in a Top Tier FMCG, Consultancy, Investment Bank, Big 4 Accounting Firm or Corporate Strategy Team.
  • Possess a strategic, visionary mindset with strong leadership and influencing skills
  • Proven experience in building strong relationships, collaborating with senior stakeholders to develop and implement strategic priorities and influence change across the organisation at all levels.
  • Broad business acumen, ranging from sales through to finance and supply chain, with an informed view on business opportunities and what challenges we can address to make a significant step change in performance
  • Outstanding relationship management and influencing capability, anticipates challenges in advance and manages conflict; identifies and leverages sources of influence to drive mutually beneficial outcomes; constructively provokes ALT thinking to drive improvement and growth
  • Demonstrated resourcefulness and pro-activeness. A self-starter that can hit the ground running with robust time management and organizational skills. Possesses the ability to multitask under pressure and deadlines.
  • Exhibits learning agility, communication, empathy and persistence. Enjoys dealing with ambiguity and problem solving.
  • Previous exposure to People Leadership or FMCG Industry would be highly regarded.
