Manager, Mid-term Material Planner (Sofia office)

Job Purpose:
The Manager, Mid-Term Material Planner ensures that the rights materials are available for call-off at the right time, with the right quantity and at the right cost to meet the production plan and customer demands. The team manages all packaging materials and ingredients required to enable finished goods production of CCEP Beverages (e.g. glass bottles, cans, labels, printed board, sugar, concentrate).
Key Responsibilities (max 10)
- Calculate and validates by using SAP IBP software the requirements for non-finished goods based on the mid-term supply plan at a finished goods level factoring in segmentation guidelines and the inventory strategy.
- Generate materials plan covering 18 months outlook; develop and maintain weekly materials requirement plans (MRPs) by materials code, date, supplier and location including requirements for concentrates, empties and pallets/requirements for co-/repackers
- Share Materials Plan with relevant stakeholders (suppliers to secure availability when required, sites, finance, procurement, ...)
- Analyses material inventories to limit slow movers and obsolescence and ensure inventory targets are met at the end of each quarter.
- Take the lead in identifying, communicating and mitigating risks to supply through influencing and escalation in relevant S&OP meetings; perform Root Cause Analysis to understand target variances and develop and implement actions based on these root causes
- Accountable to minimize raw material write off costs; work closely with the commercialization teams to support new products implementation through the supply of new raw materials aligned to the change agenda of the business
- Supplier engagement: build good work relationship with suppliers both operationally and tactically to enable mutual trust and the prioritization of our products
- Monitor Key Business Indicators and feedback (e.g. inventory turn, volume allocation, agreed stock profiles, and supplier performance around delivery & order fulfilment) to assess the effectiveness of material planning processes and identify opportunities for improvement
- Be involved on tenders with procurement, suppliers and production sites
- Review and maintain relevant parameters in the system

Experience required
- Proven experience in material planning, materials management, or related roles, preferably in a manufacturing/FMCG environment
- Strong understanding of supply chain principles, inventory management and financial drivers
- Proven experience in working in an International Western European Environment
Experience preferred
- International exposure
- Proficiency in using SAP IBP or other advanced planning solutions (e.g. o9, BlueYonder, Kinaxis..), Excel (advanced level)
Qualifications required
- Masters’ degree in supply chain management, operations management, business administration, or a related field
Functional technical skills preferred (max 10, highlighting up to 5 as priority)
- Integrated end-to-end Supply Chain and Sales & Operations Planning processes (incl. Supply Chain Strategy, product lifecycle management, procurement process and suppliers' relationship)
- Execution in Excellence – Expert in capacity and MRP planning. Understand how the product segmentation matrix is built up and understand the tactics resulted from the model
- Supply Chain complexity: knowledge of plant capacities, equipment, staffing, and processes, and an understanding of their interaction
- In-depth understanding of manufacturing process and production strategies, Inventory Management and Optimization, differentiated stock strategies and control, loss elimination
- Business Units dynamics – Understand market and supply complexity drivers
- Root Cause Analysis & Scenario Management
- Data Management
Core skills preferred (max 10, highlighting up to 5 as priority)
- Stakeholder Management: ability to build and sustain effective working relationship across multiple functions and sites, and challenge stakeholders at all levels
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a focus on interrogating data and producing detailed outputs looking at the bigger picture (e.g. identifying root causes of material supply issues, optimizing processes, and implementing continuous improvement initiatives)
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills and interpersonal skills
- Decision-making, sense of responsibility & ownership: proven track-record of being able to work under pressure, capable of handling and prioritizing simultaneous responsibilities and deadlines with minimal guidance
- Agility, flexibility and proactivity to work in a fast-paced complex environment
