Job Purpose:
The Manager, EU Indirect Tax will be responsible for supporting the Associate Director, Indirect Tax in delivering service excellence to the business in reporting for indirect taxes (e.g. VAT, Sugar taxes, Intrastat, etc.), continuous process improvement and business partnering with the business.

This position will be tasked with providing the VAT requirements for SAP set-up, Indirect Tax compliance filings and reporting for CCEP and will support the BU Local team in resolution of indirect tax matters. The position also includes a planning aspect in order to reduce costs associated with indirect taxes. The person may act as a contact person with Tax authorities on some routine tax matters

Key contributions
Financial Services Delivery

•    Ensures that CCEP policies are adhered to (e.g. approvals, financial guidelines, etc.) 
•    Ensures the general ledger tax accounts are accurate and recorded timely 
•    Ensures VAT compliance, filing, reporting and archiving for legal entities assigned.
•    Supports internally different departments across the organization (accounting, supply chain, sales etc.) for all indirect tax issues
•    Coordinates of activities and documentation to facilitate preparation and filing of VAT refund claims
•    Ensures the VAT requirements for SAP are communicate to relevant BPT team members
•    Partners with the Associate Director Indirect Taxes and country tax Lead/s on indirect tax planning for the countries assigned
•    Handles identified issues, queries and needs from tax authorities and ensure timely resolution
•    Communicates with local tax authorities on some routine tax matters
•    Documents indirect tax processes and updates the documentation in case of a process change
•    Trains newly recruited teams in Indirect taxes processes
•    Supplies advice on routine VAT queries and participates in complex Indirect tax query resolution
•    Identifies opportunities for process efficiency and continuous improvement, discusses these with Assoc. Director and actively participates in their implementation
•    Supports continuous improvement initiatives and ad hoc projects
•    Ensures compliance with company policies, relevant accounting and tax requirements and internal controls (SOX)

Relationships

•    Builds strong relationships with key stakeholders in BU and SSC teams to drive understanding and support for Indirect Taxes
•    Liaises with other BU customers to ensure requests are dealt with in a timely way and information given is relevant and in usable format
•    Liaises with key stakeholders regarding financial controls and regulatory compliance such as Internal Audit, the Independent Auditors (i.e., EY), etc.

Continuous Improvement
•    Supports the Associate Director Indirect Taxes EU in driving end-to-end standard Indirect tax processes across countries
•    Assists in developing best practice processes and highlighting opportunities for process improvement

Requirements:

•    University degree and an advanced professional accounting or Tax qualification
•    Minimum 5 years of accounting experience with indirect tax compliance management, and planning experience, preferably in a multi-national organization
•    High level of indirect taxation knowledge and experience (VAT directives and regulations, Intrastat reporting, etc.).  indirect tax experience would be a strong advantage.
•    Proficient in SAP and MS Office 
•    Be able to communicate on a professional level in English. Good working level of French or Dutch language will be an advantage.
