Maintenance Coordinator

About your new role…

You will be joining The Grinders Supply Chain Team that operates from our Roastery in Fairfield, Victoria. It encompasses a broad range of functions, from the procurement of green beans and finished products all the way to customer deliveries!

The team is committed to supporting Grinders’ journey of delivering year-on-year EBIT growth through relentless innovation, advanced manufacturing capabilities, and a consistent focus on enhancing the customer experience.

As our new Maintenance Coordinator, you will be part of our fabulous Grinders Maintenance Team who are responsible for provision of best practice support and customer service across our business.

You will one of our key members who will be ensuring that any unplanned downtime and breakdowns are resolved promptly, making sure any preventative maintenance is scheduled in advance, and that all actions are recorded in Maximo.

We are looking for someone passionate about the work they do as well as someone who is confident with leadership as this role will both oversees ad hoc contractors performing site work, serve as the primary site contact for all of Grinders’ facilities management contractors and will be required to demonstrate safe work behaviours by  leading by example and encouraging others to do the same.

A typical day would look like, but not be limited to:

  • Planning and executing preventative maintenance efficiently, with all activities scheduled in advance and recorded in Maximo.
  • Monitoring and reporting maintenance KPIs, including unplanned downtime, work order completion, and PM compliance rate.
  • Assisting with diagnosis of issues using technical manuals and schematics and coordinate with production teams to minimise disruption during repairs.
  • Rectifying any issues that happen through participation in troubleshooting, active decision making on material, product or process.
  • Maintaining accurate documentation of maintenance activities, equipment performance, and ensure timely updates to logs.
  • Managing contractor activities, ensuring technical compliance and assisting with supervision of maintenance works and commissioning of new equipment as part of Grinders’ evolution of manufacturing processes.
  • Building strong relationships with internal teams and external contractors, acting as the key contact for facilities management.
  • Participating in operational reviews, shift handovers and planning meetings to ensure that maintenance requirements are met to assist delivery of business KPIs
  • Identifying potential risks related to equipment operation and maintenance.
  • Implement measures to mitigate identified risks and ensuring compliance with safety regulations and company policies.

About you:

To be successful in this role, you must have or possess:

  • Knowledge of Computerised Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS - Maximo preferred), SCADA, both automation and work permit systems as well as Contractor management systems such as Beakon
  • A willingness to contribute to team success - you persevere and are resilient if things go wrong and have strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • High risk permit issuer licences highly desirable (e.g. Work at Heights, Confined Space Permit Issuer)
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • Prior experience and understanding of the following would be highly regarded: Quality and Food Safety management systems (ISO 9001, ISO 22000), Occupational Health and Safety Management System (ISO 45001), Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP), Lean Manufacturing Principles
