The Grinders Supply Chain Team is based in our Roastery in Fairfield, Victoria. Supply Chain compromises an array of function under its banner and the reach extends from procurement of both green beans & finished products to customer deliveries.
About your new role…
Due to incredible growth of our delicious brand, we have a wonderful opportunity to join our Grinders team in this role of Packing Team Leader, based at our Roastery in Fairfield, Victoria. It is a very exciting time to join our team as we continue to increase our market share.
You will play a critical leadership role within the Coffee Roastery, bridging the strategic direction of the Production Manager with the day-to-day execution led by Senior Production Team Members.
This role is responsible for driving operational performance across packing lines, ensuring safety, quality, and productivity standards are consistently met, and leads and develops frontline teams, fosters a culture of continuous improvement, and ensures effective communication and collaboration across shifts and functions.
You will play a key role in labour planning, process optimisation, and team capability development to support the delivery of Grinders Coffee’s operational and commercial goals. This role also serves as a Fire Warden and First Aid Officer for the site, contributing to emergency preparedness and response.
A typical day would look like, but not be limited to:
- Lead, coach, and develop Senior Production Team Members and Production Team Members to ensure safe, efficient, and high-quality operations across packing lines.
- Promote a high-performance culture by fostering accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement.
- Support recruitment, onboarding, and training of new team members to ensure operational readiness and alignment with safety and quality standards.
- Oversee packaging and product changeovers, ensuring minimal downtime and optimal resource utilisation.
- Role model safe behaviours and lead a proactive safety culture within the packing team and ensure compliance with all safety policies, procedures, and legislative requirements.
- Lead incident reporting, hazard identification, and corrective action closure.
- Support emergency preparedness, including Fire Warden responsibilities and safety audits
- Ensure packing processes consistently meet first-time quality standards and product specifications.
- Oversee completion of in-line quality checks and escalate deviations promptly.
- Drive waste reduction and product consistency improvements through team engagement and process control.

- Experience operating high-speed manufacturing machinery, ideally in food and beverage.
- SAP ECC proficiency and familiarity with PLC systems.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
- Availability to work weekday evening and/or Saturday day shifts as required.
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.

- Fire Warden certification or willingness to undertake training
