About the Role…
We’re seeking a proactive and compassionate Wellbeing and Injury Partner who understands that successful injury management is about putting people first.
As our NSW/ACT Wellbeing and Injury Partner, you will play a meaningful role in supporting our people through some of the most challenging periods of their working lives. You will manage a portfolio of both workers’ compensation and non-work-related injuries, providing empathetic guidance and practical support from initial notification through to a safe, sustainable return to work.
Working closely with leaders and internal teams including Safety, P&C and Workplace Relations — as well as our TPA/insurer and medical providers — you will ensure every employee feels listened to, respected and genuinely supported throughout their recovery journey. Your focus will extend beyond compliance and timeframes; you will build trust, reduce uncertainty and create positive, person-centred experiences while delivering strong return-to-work outcomes.
No two days will be the same. You will manage both physical and psychological injuries, navigate complex situations, solve problems thoughtfully, and make sound decisions within legislative frameworks. Your work will directly influence recovery journeys while balancing risk management and cost outcomes for the business.
In addition, you will contribute to the rollout of global and national wellbeing initiatives, helping to foster a proactive, supportive culture that positively influences employee wellbeing across the organisation.
What You’ll Be Doing…
- Proactively coordinate the end-to-end recovery and return-to-work processes for work (primarily NSW) and non-work-related injuries.
- Develop and implement Return to Work Plans including the coordination of suitable duties in consultation with employees, leaders and treating practitioners.
- Maintain accurate, confidential and up-to-date case records.
- Provide guidance and support to leaders on injury management best practice and return-to-work obligations.
- Participate in site meetings and case conferences as required to support effective workplace rehabilitation.
- Collaborate with TPA/insurers to develop, refine and drive claim strategies that optimise recovery, compliance, and cost outcomes.
- Monitor claim performance and take proactive steps to address delays or barriers in the recovery process.
- Ensure all claims comply with NSW workers’ compensation legislation, SIRA requirements, and self-insurance obligations.
- Maintain regular, meaningful engagement with injured workers and leaders to proactively progress claims and address barriers.
- Build strong partnerships with rehabilitation providers, treating practitioners, and other external stakeholders to support recovery and RTW planning.
- Identify opportunities for process improvement, early intervention, and enhanced stakeholder experience across the injury management lifecycle.
The ideal candidate will bring:
- Proven experience in NSW Workers Compensation and a strong understanding of legislation, SIRA standards and guidelines. Self-insurance experience will be highly regarded.
- Proven experience overseeing end-to-end injury management, including coordinating safe and sustainable return-to-work outcomes for both work and non-work-related injuries.
- Excellent stakeholder management skills, with the ability to liaise confidently with employees, TPA/ insurer, medical providers, rehabilitation consultants, and leadership teams.
- Exceptional communication skills — able to have challenging yet supportive, outcome-focused conversations.
- High attention to detail with accurate documentation and case management skills.
- A proactive and solution-focused mindset, with the ability to identify barriers and drive positive return-to-work and recovery outcomes.
- Empathy, resilience, and the ability to manage sensitive situations professionally and confidentially.
- Experience using Solv is desirable.
- Above all, we’re looking for someone who is organised, approachable, and committed to helping injured employees recover safely and return to meaningful work as soon as practicable.
