Building connections

We're excited to expand our Building Connections programme with UK Youth into six new areas across the UK, helping young people overcome barriers to employment.

Building on the success of the programme over the past two years, we’re welcoming new delivery partners with two located in London, and one each in Reading, Somerset, Swindon, and Wigan. In these areas, youth workers will connect young people with local employers to create stronger pathways to success - every young person deserves the chance to thrive, regardless of their background.

We couldn’t do this without our new amazing partners: Brentford FC Community Sports Trust, Sculpt, Young Somerset, SMASH Youth Project, Brighter Futures for Children, and Wigan Youth Zone.

Hear from Sam Crabb - People & Culture, Digital Manager

It’s safe to say that my career path hasn't been linear, but I’m a big believer that not having the right qualifications shouldn’t hold you back. There's no way when I started out in sales I thought I'd be able to pursue a career in HR. Skills can always be taught; it’s passion and attitude that counts. So don't let fear of stigma hold you back — you're already more qualified than you think you are!

Jack Cumming
Senior Manager, People & Culture Business Partner

Growing up was hard with just my Mum, sister and I. Mum worked hard and encouraged me to do the same but university was something we couldn't afford, so I started working minimum wage jobs after school. Thanks to great mentors and the CCEP Career Builder programme, I’ve earned recognised HR qualifications - something I never thought possible. There are still times where my imposter syndrome kicks in and I have to take a deep breath and remind myself that I have worked hard to get where I am today.

Maree Moore
Associate Director, Organisational Learning, Talent & Inclusion

Looking back at who I was at school, I couldn't have dreamt of being where I am today. I grew up in a household of 7 where things were tight! I realised to achieve success I needed to dedicate myself to hard work and seize every opportunity. This journey was not just about proving my worth but also about providing a better future for my family.
