This week we talk to Becks Martin, Head of our National Contact Centre. Becks joined CCEP NZ in August 2022, bringing her extensive knowledge of Contact Centres and leadership skills with her. After returning from her OE, Becks began her corporate career in a banking Contact Centre, before moving into investigating Fraud. She then spent just over 9 years in various roles at Kiwibank, before moving to Auckland. Becks has led a range of teams across several Contact Centre environments before joining us here!
Becks is also one of our Wellbeing First Aiders, if you’re looking for a friendly face and someone to lend an ear.
Describe your role in five words or less...
Blimmin awesome and always changing.
What are the challenges?
Not knowing something.
Do you have a favourite #onlyatCCEP moment?
Coca-Cola Christmas in the park was pretty special.
What's your favourite thing about your career?
The opportunities I’ve been fortunate enough to have, sometimes they’re exciting and sometimes they’re challenging, you learn so much regardless.
What advice would you give your 16-year-old self?
Everything will be alright in the end, if it’s not alright, it’s not the end – keep going.
If you had a warning label, what would yours say?
Is an excitable 4-year-old girl at heart.
What gets you out of bed in the morning?
Other than my alarm on workdays: events, travel, anything to do with the ocean, and sunrises.
What's your beverage of choice?
I used to be obsessed with Fanta, I would buy a 420ml bottle few times a week during my time at Uni. But after starting at CCEP, I now love Coke Zero Sugar the most.
What is something that others might find surprising about you?
I love to surf.
What inspired you to become a Wellbeing First Aider?
I get that ‘life happens’ which can create uncertainty, be overwhelming, or just a bit rough at times. I became a Wellbeing First Aider, so I could support members of our team with a listening ear or support navigating a way forward when they need to talk.
What can someone expect when they first contact you?
Hopefully they’ll feel like they’ve got someone in their corner.
